The conflict between mind and body, a polarity central to our human experience, is the basis for Vera's Body. During the course of the evening we meet the title character Vera, who has died one minute before show time. Through dance, theater, music and video imagery we see flashes from her long life – rolling down a grassy hillside, caught up in a sensual tango – moments where Vera found herself experiencing the world not through her intellect, but through her body. Her visceral experiences serve as a reminder to us of the exquisiteness of possessing a body and of knowing the world through it.
